Co-Emcee, First Nations Leading the Way Conference

Katisha co-emceed the 9th annual First Nations Leading the Way Conference alongside Chief Aaron Pete, which brings together First Nations leaders and communities leading in governance, fiscal independence and economic development.

First Nations Leading the Way 2026 was a powerful two days.

Thank you to the First Nations Finance Authority, First Nations Financial Management Board, First Nations Tax Commission, First Nations Infrastructure Institute, and First Nations Lands Advisory Board for asking Aaron Pete and I to be Masters of Ceremonies for over 700 First Nations leaders and communities at the Fairmont Hotel, on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, and səlilwətaɬ.

The theme, Building for the Future: A Generation of Collaborative Growth, reminds us that strong self-governance is built by working with the future in mind.

Self-governance and fiscal independence are not aspirational. They are our inherent rights, and the work now is making sure they are felt at home.
